Unique is proud to offer this improved line of lead-free glass colors. These colors are as easy to apply and fire as the original formula. The new lead-free’s are opaque with vibrant colors not found in the original line. The pre-mixed colors have now been changed to a powder formula that is mixed with a Medium. This will insure a smooth glossy surface. Use these colors on most types of glass, ceramic bisque and also over glazed ceramic pieces. There are two new outliners, a white and a black, which will allow you to complete projects that are totally food safe.

     You will notice the color names are the same as the original colors, and the original numbers have a one added to the front of each. We feel that this system will simplify color identification for those who have been using the original colors. All colors are the same except the lead-free’s are brighter and more opaque. No cadmium or transparent colors are available at present.

     Thinned colors can be brushed, sponged, sprayed or applied with a pen. The dry colors can be sifted over the glass for new and different techniques. Click on the Projects button below for sifting instructions. They can be mixed together for numerous shades and all can be used for shading, even over the original formula colors.

          Firing is cone 015 or from 1500º to 1525º in a ceramic or a glass kiln. Unique Glass Colors hold their color to a much higher temperature when used on ceramic or porcelain bisque.
